DAGCAS introduced this Minority Communities Service Development Project for all minority communities in Dumfries & Galloway with the aims and objectives:

 

  • To identify and remove existing and potential barriers to services provided by DAGCAS.
  • To development links and actively engage members of Minority Communities.
  • To improve and raise awareness of advice services provided by DAGCAS.
  • To provide access to translation and interpretation services for Minority Communities to be able to use the services provided by DAGCAS.
  • To increase Minority Communities access to advice services provided by DAGCAS including representations at appeal tribunals and/or court representation.
  • To recruit and train volunteer advisers from minority communities specialising in services provided by DAGCAS.
  • To develop a collaborative framework with local support agencies and community groups.
